Mixed Yard of String Result

One of the most popular mixed competitions didn't disappoint, with some excellent and not so excellent play and clever use of the yard of string!
Result as follows:

1st - Lisa & Colin K with 41 pts
2nd - Lydia D & John Harrison with 39 pts
3rd - Kim & Paul Rainey with 39 puts (c/b)

Well done Anne on organising your first mixed competition!
Thanks, Jill

Vets Match

My thanks to all ladies who took part in the first major competition against the men today.

We were lucky with the weather, which is always a bonus and definitely worth reporting! There weren't too many shenanigans pre-tee off, and despite Jean being left hanging on the 17th for a while, the matches all got underway, if slightly behind schedule.

Valiant efforts all round (notably Rena battling on her own after Jennie had to retire due to 10-pin bowling injury!) and some really close matches, with trick shots thrown in for good measure (Sue and your rock!). However... the end results went in the men's favour, as did a few bounces; 4 wins, 2 halves and 2 losses, meaning 5-3 to the Vets. Still, great spirit all round and plenty of chat.
Next time girls, we'll 'ave em!

SWINGING SIXTIES

Thank you to those ladies who signed up for the 15th March, only to be let down by the awful weather resulting in cancelling the whole thing!  I’ve been asked to rearrange, so please make note of the date - Thursday 7 June - when, hopefully, the weather will be very much improved!

I will be away until just prior to that date, so Debbie Satchell will be the organiser in my absence.  Hope you can all make it.

Don’t forget the away day has been booked for Thursday 9 August at Cobtree Manor
