Swinging Sixties Awayday

The awayday for the Swinging Sixties is on Thursday, 9 August at Cobtree Manor Golf Club and the sign-up sheet is now on the noticeboard. The cost is £25 for 18 holes and lunch; please could I have payment no later than Sunday, 22 July.

If you require a buggy on the day, please let me know – two have been reserved for us, but I can order more. I understand that the cost of hiring a buggy is £16.50.

Bradley Cook

I’m pleased to say the Bradley Cook team (Lindsay, Sue S, Lydia, Jill, Jane and Julie) have won their round robin group and are through to the quarter finals of the main competition. This will be a home/away match against Royal Cinque Ports, a tough fixture but I know everyone will give it their all and we wish the team the very best.

Bradley Cook v Sittingbourne

Well done to the Bradley Cook team who beat Sittingbourne 4-1 yesterday at West Malling. This was the last match for us in our round robin group which saw us winning 3 matches and losing 1. We are now awaiting the result between sittingbourne and chislehurst next Sunday to determine whether we win our group and go through to the next round or whether we finish second and go through to the Plate competition.

Swinging Sixties – Thursday, 07 June 2018

Firstly, a big thank you to Debbie Satchell for organising the day for the Swinging Sixties in my absence.

My heart sank a little on Wednesday when I saw that the weather forecast for Thursday gave rain and thought ‘oh no, not again’! Luckily it couldn’t have been more wrong and we had a lovely day for our golf – no rain, sunny and not too hot. I think (hope) everyone enjoyed the day.  

The scores were all very close, but the results were as follows:

A brilliantly attended event once again which is a testament to Viv - it's the one no one wants to miss - and says so much about her. She and the sun shone down on us, and there was some sparkling golf  on display.
