Lady Captain's Report

Well what a start to the new year for me.  I had my drive-in, really silly but I've never been so nervous.  Duncan and I have always spent the new year in Devon which means we have never been around for the drive in. I really didn't know what to expect on the day or how well supported it was.
It was great having so many of you there to make it even more nerve wrecking.
Luckily my drive turned out to be one of the best I've had on that hole, what a relief .
Once the drive was over and done with, I must say it was truly a great day.   Now I'm looking forward to my year as captain and working with a great team, committee members as well as all the lady members.

I have some ideas for fund raising, but still in the pipeline, I will keep everyone well informed as I hoping for lots of support.

There isn't a lot going on this month just a few medals and stablefords and with the course quite muddy, there has been just a few entries.

We had a few changes made to the diary, which I have posted in changing room.
The friendly away to Broome Park was on the 7th of August is now the 31st of July, The Ryder Cup is now in the diary due to a Sunday opening up to us on the 15th of September and finally for now
Elizabeth Budd  was listed on the Saturday and is now altered to the Sunday the 7th of April. I'm sorry if this has inconvenienced anyone.

Upcoming Event is the Valentines Team Comp and the 9 hole Red Roses for our fabulous seniors.
Kim has already put the signup sheet in the changing room, hope to get a good turn out ladies.

Enjoy the rest of the month, and hopefully plenty of golf to be played..
PEARSON TROPHY UPDATE.
We have played three of our six matches so far, losing 2 and winning 1.
Our next match is at Wildernesse on Friday 1st February, then at West Malling on Thursday 14th February.  Our final match is at Sittingbourne on Tuesday 5th March.
If you have the time please come and support, it would be much appreciated

Happy New Year

I would like to thank all of you who came down on the day to support Lew and I.  I could not believe the amount of people there, which really brought the nerves up even more as I got ready to drive my ball. To my Surprise I manage to hit my drive long and straight which doesn't happen too often for me. I can now say I'm quite relieved that's over and done with, but what a great day it was.

I would also like to thank everyone who supported my charity by purchasing baubles, guessing my drive and also the Christmas cards donation. We manage to raised 308.50 thank you ladies.

The winner of the baubles was Debbie Tennant with a magnum of champagne and box of chocolates

The winner of the lady captain's drive was Malcom Roberts with a bottle of Veuve Cliquot champagne

It was a very nervous beginning, but a very enjoyable day.
Here's to a good beginning to a New Year

Enjoy your golf ladies.

From your Lady Captain
