Defeat for West Malling in Pearson Trophy
West Malling lost their unbeaten record In this years Pearson Trophy competition when we lost 5 - 2 at Sundridge Park today.
The first leg of this third round tie was closely contested by two evenly matched teams but wins for Lindsay Hart (4 & 3) and Carol Eldridge (3 & 2) were not enough as Sundridge Park won the 5 remaining matches taking 13 points to West Malling's 7 points.
Debbie Conder and Stella Pitt both lost 2 & 1, Rena Jones lost 2up, Kelly Hanson went down 3 & 1 whilst Debbie Tennant lost 4 & 3.
Our ladies fought valiantly but came up against a very experienced Sundridge Park team but we will look forward to the return match at West Malling on Tuesday 29th May where we will hope to take our revenge and secure our place in this years Finals Day.

Capt v Sec
Well done to Caroline for beating me yesterday. Roll on Saturday. Hope all the Ladies enjoyed themselves.
BRADLEY COOK
Well done to the ladies that played in the recent matches against West Kent in the first round of the knockout competition. After a superb 4 to 1 win at West Malling on one of the sunniest days of the year so far, we had to play the return match (after it was rearranged due to a waterlogged course) on Sunday in wind and rain. Typical English weather, unfortunately they put out the big guns and we lost 5 nil. Never mind at least we get to play in the Plate, which last year we did extremely well in by getting to the semi-finals. Come on Ladies this year the final.

Pearson Team progress to Next Round
A fantastic 4 - 3 win at Parkwood last Monday secured West Malling's place in the quarter finals of this years competition.
The match was played in horrendous conditions but 7 very determined ladies took to the course and in true West Malling fashion secured a win against a team that rarely loses at home. Parkwood fielded a team that had even higher handicaps than the team that played at West Malling with many of our ladies giving at least 7 shots but wins for Debbie Conder, Lindsay Hart, Stella Pitt and Sue Gofton gave us the win and ensured we progressed in this years competition.
We now play Sundridge Park in the next round of the competition.

Pearson Trophy
West Malling beat Park Wood 6 - 1 at home today in their quest to win through to the Quarter Finals of this years competition.
With Park Wood fielding a team whose lowest handicap was 20 every one of our team had to give shots with 4 ladies giving at least 5 shots but wins for Debbie Conder (2 & 1), Caroline Harrison (3 & 1), Lindsay Hart and Julie Harris (both 4 & 3), Stella Pitt (7 & 6) and Carol Eldridge (1 up) gave us a resounding win notching up a valuable 21 points. Pat Donovan who was brought into the team at the last minute lost out on the 18th giving Park Wood just 2 points.
The team now play at Park Wood on Monday 23rd April in a match that will decide who goes through to the next round.

Donation to Age UK
I am delighted to tell you that over £3,300 was raised for charity during my year as Lady Captain at West Malling GC.
This money has now been forwarded to Age UK, and will be used to continue their work in local communities, nationally and assisting the elderly now, and in the future.
My thanks to all of you who helped organise, participated in and contributed to our varied fundraising activities for this worthwhile cause.
And please don't forget to donate blood if you are able. Just 4% of the UK population currently does so, yet many more rely on this vital gift.
