Newlife the Charity for Disabled Children - Feedback from the charity
Ladies,
Diana has received the following details from the charity that she and Lew Evans chose to support during their Captains Year. I am sure you will agree that the money was well spent and has clearly changed the families lives for the better. The photographs referred to are shown in the changing room.
Dear Diana,
I hope that you had a wonderful weekend.
Please find attached details of the children that have benefited from your fundraising and year as Ladies Captain.
We are able to share 4 stories with photographs of some of the children as their families have given permission. The other children are not mentioned personally; however you can see by the records the number of local children that you have helped.
Thanks again on behalf of all the 11 families for what you have achieved as it has made a fantastic difference.
Kindest Regards,
Paul

Jessica, aged 8, Jessica has low functioning autism and requires supervision at all times to maintain her safety. She has no
awareness of danger. Her behaviour fluctuates on a day to day basis.
We hope to be able to receive a new disability push chair for Jessica. This will enable us to ensure her safety and give us the opportunity to enjoy more family days out. I believe this will boost our mental health as a whole family.

16016 – car seat
Harriet, aged 9, scoliosis with Global Developmental delay, non walking, non-verbal, very limited understanding, poor muscle control uses hoist at school due to height and weight.
Harriet able to escape from her standard car seat making journeys dangerous for both Harriet and her family who are at their wits end.

15520 – buggy
Katie, aged 7, Katie is non verbal autistic and has hypermobility in her joints.
She is too big for her pram at the moment but we don't have any other option as on a good day which is rare she will walk maximum 200 yards. most days she won't get out and walk at all. Days out are very difficult and cannot cope without a pram / stroller, as she is too heavy to carry now and also with her
additional needs she always has to have certain foods and nappies etc with us.
15786 – seating – no details
16109 – buggy – no details
16110 car seat
Jack, aged 6, has complex epilepsy and a rare tumour that has led to speech and communication difficulties. Jack also has a lack of understanding and it can become very stressful for him when trying to get him in and out of his car seat and because of this his family only go out in the car for essential journeys.

Lady Captains Day
There were 36 ladies today for the Lady Captain’s Day and I am sure they will all agree it was a lovely day. The weather was dry at least, there was plenty of Pimms flowing, although I am not really convinced it helped some teams, but they left happy anyway. A special well done to Shirley who was clearly in a lot of discomfort but continued to the end, l hope you don’t suffer too much tomorrow.
The results were;
1st. Rena Jones, Eileen Tuson and Jacqueline Hunt 77 pts. (o.c.b.)
2nd. Anne Smart, Jill Gambling and Janice McConnell 77 pts.
3rd. Deborah Tennant, Jane Woodward and Julia Smith 76 pts.
Nearest the pin on 8th Lesley Shott
Nearest the pin on 13th Lorraine Cox
Nearest the line Diana Scott.
Well played ladies.

Lady Captain’s Day
Ladies can you please confirm with the club by tomorrow if possible, whether or not you are going to stay for sandwiches and cake after the game. The cost will be £9.50, all the food will be plated for each person to ensure it is COVID safe, so you can only swap sandwiches at your own risk if someone else is willing.
Joining together for food is a big part of Captains day so please join us if you can and help make it a day to remember for Carol.
If you have any dietary requirements please let the club know when you pay.

Competition Sign Up
Ladies, we are going to change the timetable for signing up to competitions. As we no longer need to get to the club in order to sign up and view the draw, we have decided to open the draw 5 weeks before the start date and publish the draw one week beforehand. This will hopefully mean that if circumstances change for people, for the most part they can withdraw before the draw is made.

Lady Captains update
Hi Ladies,
Hopefully you are all enjoying your golf though it’s a little wet today. Competitions have been going very well over the past month and there are still many more to play.
The Lady Captain’s day will be going ahead on the 11th July though a little different to past years. We have 12 tee times for this day, this year I am hoping for a fun day and it will be played in a 3 ball team Waltz style. We have only 6 places left so if you want to attend please sign up on IG. There will be food after the round of sandwiches, cake with tea or coffee individually served when you come in and seated with your 3 ball team. The cost of this is £9.50 pp. there is no need to change as this will be a casual event.
Payment to be made for the food with your club card and please ensure that you let Kate know of any dietary requirements. I will be buzzing around with refreshments throughout your game.
2 raffles will be held for our joint charity which consists of £5 a strip for bottles, balls and a fourball at Boughton golf club, and another raffle for fourball voucher at the London club at £10 pp ticket there may also be a voucher for a fourball at Northforeland golf club this is still to be confirmed.
Well that’s it for now, stay safe.
Carol (Lady Captain)
