Lady Captain's Report

Well February has gone and we are now into March!  The weather has been good for us to play golf all but for one Saturday when it snowed – well it was snowing in Harrietsham!!

The first fun competition of the year was the ‘Valentines’ and this was played on the Tuesday, which was Valentine’s Day and also Saturday.  The format was great – a drawn team of 3 with all scores counting.  After a few “can’t we have 2 out of 3 scores” comments – and the answer was a big NO – we were off!!  It was great fun on both days and the winners on Tuesday were Debbie Satchell, Carol Martin and Helen Cornwell with 77 points and on Saturday the winners were Kim Wellman, Sue Stickland and Sally Payne with 81 points.  A big thank you to Kim and Gina for organising – great job!!

I attended my first management meeting in January and there was all good news.  The Management have appointed a new Green Keeper and although he has had to give 3 months notice to his current employers, he will be working here for two days a week until taking over full time.

The 5th hole on the Hurricane is now being worked on and will hopefully be ready by March 2018.

Our diary will start to get busy now and we have the Coronation Foursomes, our Ladies v Vets match and the first mixed competition the Yard of String coming soon.  And of course our Pearson and Tappin matches continue.

Look out for all the sign-up sheets which will be on the notice boards.

The Friendlies will also be starting in April and these are always great fun and very good practice for your match play skills!!  So check your diaries and sign up for these too.

You will hopefully have noticed that our Ladies changing room is being decorated and we took the opportunity to have a massive spring clean!!  The unwanted books have been donated to Spadework and we would ask that you don’t bring any more.

Good luck to the Pearson Team tomorrow – you go girls and play your best!!

Much love, Gill.
