Topsy Turvy sign up (and a twist)

Anne has put the sign-up sheet for the Topsy Turvy mixed event (Sunday 26 Aug) on the mixed board.
Always a good challenge and bit of fun, especially in these conditions with the ball running so much - white tees?? pah, piece of cake!!

This year, Chris Wood (pro shop Chris if you don't know) has offered to wear a tutu for the duration, with money going to my charity!!!!
What a great sport he is.
Minimum £5 please he says - humiliation and ridicule does of course have a price!!!
I know I'll be paying to see it!! Hopefully lots of you will too.
Thanks
Jill

M20 closure - CANCELLED - please read

UPDATED - thanks Lydia for the intel:

Updates

BELOW TO BE IGNORED. No allowance for missing tee times now the traffic issue is no more.

[We discussed at Committee this evening, the possible impact of the M20 closure/A20 roadworks and subsequent potential traffic issues this coming weekend. We agreed as follows:

SATURDAY: Each player will be allowed a maximum of 30 minutes grace beyond their scheduled tee time, to arrive at the club. Tee groups must remain the same as per the draw, so we ask that all players are given the additional time to arrive (eg. you don't go off within the 30 minutes grace period, even if it means going out later than the scheduled tee time). Groups should slot in as soon as possible in the drawn groups.

Should any player not arrive within the grace period, then unfortunately they will be disqualified and the remaining players shall play as a two ball. In the event that only a one ball is left, they shall join up with the 3 ball closest to their handicap.

In the event that any player(s) arrive within the grace period, but find that they cannot tee off due to bookings having been taken by the club, they shall wait until the earliest opportunity to tee off thereafter. (we do have a bit of a buffer).

If any group is waiting for a player/players to arrive, and the group directly behind them is ready, then the latter should move up the order as a group.

SUNDAY: Tee times as drawn after close of play on Saturday must be adhered to; any player missing their allotted time will unfortunately have to be disqualified, as tees are based on gross scores. The same rule applies if someone fails to arrive or is disqualified, whereby 3 balls become 2 balls; in the event of just a one ball being left, then they would need to join up with the group closest to their gross score from Saturday.

If you do have a problem, can you try to phone one of your playing partners or the office to let them know.
Hopefully none of the above will be required!!!!! But as it is seeded etc, we needed to make some allowance should the worst happen.

PLEASE ensure you check traffic reports and leave in plenty of time. Also, share with your fellow players who maybe don't check the blog and aren't on Girlie golf WhatsApp. I'm putting a note in the changing rooms.]

Ladies Versus Pegasus RESULT

In simple terms... WE WON!!! A most excellent result, 6-3 to the magnificent ladies section.

It's always lovely playing the Pegasus men; so friendly and welcoming and great matches.

The snack wagon at hole 7 was greatly enjoyed - thanks to Eric Hucker and Jane for set up and supply as well as plenty of ball re-cycling!!

Massive thanks to Bob for the organisation and nearest pin prizes too (thrilled to be the winner on 13) and well done Clivie Millgate for his on the 8th.

The trophy is ours once more, so must make sure it gets engraved (for the last two years!)

Well done ladies.
Jill

Ryder Cup - Postponed

Due to the date we've been given being the last day of the real Ryder Cup, having done a straw poll today, I have decide that it should be postponed and re-scheduled at a more convenient time if possible, later in the year.
Thanks
Jill
