AGM Information

The form for 'New Committee Members' and a reminder for any 'Proposals' is now in the ladies changing rooms.

In order to maintain a fresh and dynamic approach for the Ladies Section it is important to welcome new committee members, so please give some consideration to joining.

Any proposals you may wish to raise at the AGM must be submitted in writing and signed before the closing date.

The closing date for both 'nominations' and 'proposals' will be -
 SATURDAY 14th OCTOBER 2017

A copy of the 2016 AGM Minutes is also upstairs in the changing room but you will be emailed your own copy within the next few weeks and I shall inform you on the blog to look out for them when this starts to happen.

Quiz Night - Change of Date

Ladies due to unforeseen circumstances the Quiz Night due to be held on Friday 13th October is now cancelled and has been rescheduled .

The new date for the Quiz Night is Friday 20th October '17 so please make a note in your diaries and purchase your tickets at reception.

We look forward to seeing you there.

The West Malling 'Masters'

To all those ladies who took part in the Masters this last weekend - VERY WELL DONE!!
Whether you played just one day or so well, you also got through to the final day, we salute you!

So congratulations to you all and hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Special congratulations must go to our amazing vice captain Jill Gambling who came through and equalled the 4th place final score, a fantastic achievement so very well done Jill. We are all so proud of you!!  This puts you up there once again for the second year running .. so may be next year?!

Quiz Night Friday 19th May

Don't forget to pick up and pay for your tickets for this Friday's Quiz Night from the Office.

Cost is £40 per table of 6 and includes a Sausage & Chip Supper.

We are looking forward to another great fun evening and would also appreciate any donations of bottles and balls for the raffle to raise funds for the Captains' Charities.

LADIES, PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

1 - A FULL COPY OF THE 2015 AGM MINUTES WILL BE POSTED IN THE LADIES CHANGING ROOM THIS WEEK AS IS REQUIRED BY THE LADIES CONSTITUTION.

2 - ANY PROPOSALS FOR THE FORTHCOMING AGM IN NOVEMBER AND ANY NOMINATIONS FOR NEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 16/10/16 - AGAIN THESE HAVE BEEN IN THE LADIES CHANGING ROOMS FOR THE PAST MONTH AND ARE THEREFORE SOON TO BE REMOVED.

3 - MINUTES OF THE 2015 AGM TOGETHER WITH ANY OTHER RELEVANT DOCUMENTATION, WILL BE EMAILED TO ALL LADY MEMBERS EARLY IN NOVEMBER VIA THE WM LADIES EMAIL ACCOUNT.

Lady Captain v Secretary Tuesday 4th October -

Ladies just to remind you of the 'very relaxed' competition that will be on the Hurricane tomorrow.

Any ladies playing earlier than the first tee time at 9.03 are still more than welcome to enter by simply entering their name on the sheet that will be in the changing room and then confirming who won.

It will also be great if any of our 'senior' ladies who may only be intending to do a few holes rather than the full 18, enter their names and result too,

Use any format you choose to play and decide the winner.

There is no entry fee but each person in the 'winning team' will receive a prize from the organisers.

So ladies please join us if you can to have some fun and especially whilst the weather lasts!!

LADIES AGM

Pearson & Tappin Team Captains

As agreed at the AGM 2008, all captains of the Kent County Competitions would serve a maximum of 3 years in office.

The Pearson Trophy and Tappin Trophy captaincies are now up for re-election and if anyone is interested in filling either of these roles, please add your name to the sheet in the ladies changing room which will be going up shortly.

The West Malling Masters

Ladies

Three cheers please for all our ladies that entered the Masters this last weekend - they are all heroes!

A special cheer and congratulations for Jill Gambling who finished 4th overall  - and she says:

"I am chuffed to bits with the Masters - honestly didn't think I'd have a chance so that probably helped! Don't usually make the cut!  Yes I came joint 4th on 140 points - winner was 138 and two on 139 - and given best Spitfire Sunday score. Woohoo!

Had my handicap cut to 12 too. Just got to learn to play to it more often....."

Wonderful.

And congratulations also to Julie Harris who won nearest the pin on the Hurricane.

Christmas Lunch - Date Change

Due to a clash of dates in the club calendar the Ladies Christmas Lunch and 12 hole Stableford will now take place on Tuesday 13th December 2016.

Viv Allen Trophy

On Saturday 4th June we shall be playing the Viv Allen Trophy in memory of a lovely lady who was a cherished member of our Ladies Section.

We hope you will agree that it would be a fitting tribute for us to wear our West Malling tee shirts and jumpers on the day to celebrate the times we shared with her! But of course, only if you have them!

This is prior notice as the draw hasn't been made yet.  Once done it will be posted as usual.

Competition Rules

In order to avoid any disputes with ongoing competitions and to remain within the allotted time for completion of matches, please try to be as flexible as possible both with dates and being in contact with your drawn playing partner(s) whether your name(s) appears above or below on the sheet.

A reminder of the rule which can result in disqualification for both parties is as follows:

RULES FOR ALL MATCHPLAY COMPETITIONS

           

RESPONSIBILITY OF COMPETITORS:-

It is the responsibility of both players to ensure that the result of matches is obtained within the time limit for any round of a competition.

If a match cannot be arranged, a result may be achieved by a method acceptable to both parties e.g. by conceding, by competing on the putting green, toss of a coin etc.  Failure to achieve a result will mean that both sides will be disqualified.

Swinging 60's

May 26th is the date for our next Swinging 60’s.  If you are over 60 and would like to join us please add your name to the sign-up sheet which is now on the board.  Format will be Texas Scramble followed by a 2 course lunch of Chicken in Bacon & Shallot Sauce with seasonal vegetables followed by Eton Mess.  The cost will be £14.50 plus £2 pp for prizes.

Other dates for your diary are August 25th for the summer away day and December 18th for the 12 hole Swinging 60’s Christmas Stableford.

Ladies, for your information, your own copy of the 2014 AGM Minutes will soon be emailed to you. Please look out for these arriving sometime in the next couple of weeks in preparation for our forthcoming AGM on Sunday 29th November 2015.
