Mixed Ryder Cup - Sunday, 15 September 2019

Sign-up sheet for this competition is on the mixed competition noticeboard by the men’s changing room.

Mixed Pairs to be drawn to play for either Team USA (Diana) or Team Europe (Lew).

Front 9 Holes: Better Ball at 90% of handicap. Winning Pair earns a point for their team (half a point each team if match finishes All Square).

Back nine holes: Singles matches at full handicaps. Winning Player earns a point for their team (half a point each if match finishes All Square).

In the event of the overall match ending All Square, the Winner will be determined by a one-hole play-off between the 2 captains.

Shot Gun Start if sufficient players or alternately drawn start times from 9 am.  The competition will be played on the Hurricane.

Lady Captain's Report

Hello ladies

After my last report, we've had our club championship & Handicap Cup, the Saturday started with rain but as the day went on it turn out quite nice and Sunday was lovely.  We had quite a turn out for it. thank you to Debbie and Kim for organising and setting up the draw.

.I finally managed to get away for ten days, I had beautiful weather in New York to get back here just before our Ladies' Open to a cold and rainy day. We were lucky that the Tuesday turned out dry and very acceptable for golf.  The day was a great success with 28 teams playing on the day.  Well done to Carol Martin for a fabulous job.  Having tackled it myself last year I can appreciate how much preparation is involved, but it all went very well.  Many thanks to all of my committee members who helped out on the day, it made the job at hand a lot easier. and of course a big thank you to all you ladies of the club who are always willing to give a helping hand. Thank you to Steve Decon for a  great job on entering all the scores and Lew Evans and Andy Martin who were our starters.  I also have to mention Duncan and Matt for a great job at halfway house the ladies really enjoyed a glass a Pimms with a bit of banter.

There are a few competitions coming up.   The mixed Topsy Turvey which has now been drawn with 6 fourballs. Unfortunately it's on the bank holiday weekend, something to look at next year. Then there is the Lady Captain's Away Day with 22 ladies joining me, not the numbers I expected but I know there are quite a few ladies on holiday at the moment.  I'm still really looking forward to the day hope we get the weather.  We then have the Archers 5 Club and the lady's overnighter, it's all happening, I'm really looking forward to it all.

Dear ladies
Nearly all balance dues have been paid - just two on YourGolf link required (I have sent you messages) and one to me directly.

I can confirm that an additional £10 each is required, due to the numbers being 32. Still a very reasonable sum I think you'll agree for what we're getting.

Please DO NOT pay online, but bring cash on the day and give to me please, as I have paid the extra for everyone.

Not long to go... I have asked about cost of buggies and will advise once I know.
