Ladies Stablefords and Medals
Following discussions with the management, we are resuming the Stableford and Medal competitions. We will start them initially with a Stableford on the Spitfire on Tuesday 14th and Saturday 18th of July. All signing up will need to be done online and the fee will be taken straight from your Gold Card. The office will be able to do this for you if necessary. We will confirm the next dates as soon as possible.
We are making some adjustments to the process of entering the cards to ensure everyone’s safety. As a marker you will need to complete the players card yourself. Please do this as clearly as possible, making sure their name, the competition entered, the date and their handicap are all clear.
Please enter the scores as usual keeping these as clear as possible. On completion of the round, the player and the marker need to verbally confirm the number of shots taken on each hole, then the marker needs to sign the card and clearly print the players name in the signature box the player would usually sign.
Then if at all possible take a photograph of the card, making sure that the whole card is visible, this needs to be sent to the Handicap Secretary, Jean Alback on 07805 261874.
Once this is done the card must be placed in the ladies box outside the Pro Shop. There may be some delay in entering the cards if no photograph is sent of some cards, or if some of the photographs do not clearly show all the information.
We appreciate that this complicates the process, but it ensures that only the marker needs to handle the card for at least 48 hours, so there will be a delay in the results being confirmed if not all the markers submit photographs of clearly marked cards. The process will be regularly reviewed with safety being paramount.
As there have been so few opportunities to submit cards this year the committee has agreed that ladies only need to submit three cards this year in order to qualify for all competitions next year. If this is not possible then ladies can write to the Ladies Committee explaining the reasons and they will consider the possibility of reducing this further, as long as the individual has a current handicap before entering any competition.
Please make sure you are familiar with the provisional rules provided by England Golf, especially regarding bunkers and the flag beforehand in order to keep yourselves and others safe whilst playing.
We hope you all enjoy the opportunity to start playing competitively again.
