WE HAVE A MATCH AGAINST PEGASUS ON SATURDAY 28TH AUGUST.

Sign up via IG.
Ladies we have just added the Cecil Leitch 5 club competition to IG for Sunday 16th May and it is open for you to sign up. Apologies for the short notice, entirely my fault, there have been lots of rearranging to be done but hopefully we are now back on track.
Can I also remind you that the Viv Allen Trophy and Mid Week trophy are also open to sign up on IG.
The draws for all the match play competitions are completed and these can be viewed on IG as well.

Hi Ladies,
How lovely it is to get back out on the golf course, the weather has been excellent since the club reopened after lockdown and both courses are in perfect condition. It has also been an added bonus to be able to meet up with friends (socially distanced) and enjoy a coffee and a chat.
Judith and I have now updated the diary from May to December 2021 and all competitions and some new are back on the calendar, with a little luck we will not have any further disruption. A printed copy will be put up on the information board in the foyer outside the pro shop. Judith and I will have a few copies printed for those that are not confident in using the IG system which of course has been updated by Julie.
We have now been able to accommodate the coronation 4/somes which had to be postponed due club restrictions, the new dates are Tuesday 1st June and Saturday 5th June. (Sign up on the IG). There is also a new competition this year a Ping Mixed 4 BBB which has been scheduled for Sunday 20th June (sign up on the IG) more details will be available from Anne Smart (mixed comp. Secretary). I have now rescheduled the Mixed Away Day at Boughton which once again had been postponed, this will now be played on Monday 30th August sign up will be available nearer the date.
There have been numerous updates with the newly formed IG and WHS and when restrictions are lifted we will organise an informal meeting to discuss issues and additions that are integrated into the system.
Julie has forwarded a link by the club email which guides you through the pre registering of play where you can submit a playing card in between the competitions. It would be most helpful if you could listen to the link. There will no longer be the opportunity to enter an exceptional score card if you have had a good round of golf, all cards are to be pre registered by the app on your telephone prior to playing. If you have signed up for a competition your card and score will be automatically registered onto the system through the ladies IG.
The ladies committee will try to help you with any problems as best they can, but please remember this system is new to all of us and we are trying to grasp the system ourselves, I am sure there will be many teething problems so please be patient it will eventually be sorted. It is supposed to make it easier with regards to fairer handicaps (We shall see)
Well I think that’s about all from me and I wish you all a healthy summer of golf.
Carol Martin Lady Captain

Hi Ladies,
Following on from my catch up of 28th February, I am now able to update you with the restrictions to competitions from management.
Greg has confirmed that all competitions that require a block booking will be cancelled until at least May, this will allow other golfers to book tees as they anticipate an increase of players once we are able to return to the golf course.
Looking on the bright side we will be able to continue with the Medal, Stableford, Eclectic and any other competitions that do not require a block booking.
Once a again the spring meeting, rose bowl and Elizabeth Budd have been postponed or maybe we can rearrange later in May or June (diary permitting). The Daily Mail 4somes has also been cancelled for 2021 as they have not been able to complete the 2020 final.
On the IG system we have a list of competitions that can be entered these include: The eclectic which runs on both courses and begins on April the 1st through to October 31st. Please take a photo of your card and send to Rena as we did last year. The ladies Shekyls Trophy, Ladies Mckean and the mixed Kip Pulling (summer Matchplay). The sign up for these competitions opens on the 20th March.
Please, please, keep looking on the IG system for competitions as these are being updated continuously, and will keep you informed.
Can all cards be posted into the ladies competition box in the lobby where they will be recorded by Jean our handicap Secretary, please make sure that the player and markers name is clear on the card and signed.
The IG system is not a present accepting the 9 hole score card as this has not been reset up since the new h/cap, but hopefully this will be adjusted by Greg shortly.
“That’s all from me folks”
All I can say now is stay safe, keep well and enjoy your golf from the 29th March.
Best wishes,
Carol
Hi Ladies,
I do hope you have all been keeping safe and well over the past months of lockdown. I don’t think anyone could have imagined how 2020 could have turned out. We were all looking forward to the New Year (2021) and once again COVID raised its ugly head and still remains. Obviously the good news is the vaccinations are now well on the way and hopefully by the end of the summer life will be back to some normality.
It’s brilliant news that restrictions are slowly being lifted and that we will be able to resume playing golf at West Malling on the 29th March, though still being careful, unfortunately our first competition the Spring Meeting (30th March) will have to be postponed, we will try and reschedule this for a later date if possible. I am pleased to say we can still play the Stableford and Medal Competitions that are on the IG system diary as we will be permitted 4 balls, so score cards can be completed, signed and put into the competition box in the foyer as post lockdown. Please keep checking the IG system for dates and up coming competitions and we will endeavour to publish the 2021 diary (though this is on the IG system) and send this out by email.
All the best, stay safe.
Carol - Lady Captain
Hi Ladies,
The Charity Raffle has now been drawn by Bill and myself and ticket results will be posted on the window of the office in the foyer, prizes can be collected at reception.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy healthy New Year.

AGM
Sunday December 13th
At
10.30am
Zoom Meeting
(Please note the change of date)
Dear Lady Golfers,
Its that time of year for the ladies’ committee to get to
work on preparing for the AGM. To say its more of a challenge this year is
putting it mildly.
The ruling on England golf states we must try and adhere to
having some sort of meeting, but this information has not been updated since
September 2020.
Due to the current situation we have been unable to promote
for any lady members interested in joining the ladies’ section committee. For
this reason, all committee members have readily agreed to stay onboard and
support both Carol Martin (Lady Captain) and Judith Parkhurst (Vice Captain).
Plan of action

(Hon Secretary)
Well where has the summer gone! Although we have had brilliant weather throughout the summer we are now into the wet Autumn which most of us have found out this week.
The committee and I have been working hard to get back on track with competitions, and those that have been played have been very well supported. It has been a very different method this year with no social gatherings after competitions which have been sorely missed, and with all results being posted on the blog and the IG site, unfortunately this is the only way that competitions can be played safely.
I am sure you have noticed the new score cards that the club are providing ready for the new World h/cap system that will be coming into force in early November. We will keep you informed as to if and when your h/cap will change during this time.
I would like to thank all the ladies that have made contributions to the charity this summer including those that played in the charity eclectic that we ran during the summer months, this seemed to keep us going when competitions were restricted.
We have only 2 competitions left in the diary this year the 13th October is the Vets vs Ladies and on the 18th October the Copper Beech (this Competition is still open for signing up). I am not sure what will happen in December it seems very unlikely that there will be a Christmas meeting or meal but perhaps something can be arranged. The AGM also seems unlikely due to social distancing but we the committee will keep you informed.
I hope you are all keeping an eye on the IG system which I must say a big thank you once again to Julie Harris whom is keeping everything up to date. I know a new system can be daunting to lots of us but once you get to grips with this it can be very easy to use. You can book tee times, check your h/cap and also use it to check on up and coming competitions.
The Captain’s charity day that was held on the 30th August was very successful and raised a brilliant £2410.00 and I would like to thank you all that entered and all those that supported the raffle. On the 25th October we have the Captains Texas Scramble this is a 4 ball of any combination (mixed, ladies!men) with a bacon roll and coffee on arrival at £10 pp raffle tickets are on sale at £5 per strip.
All I need to say now is happy winter golfing, stay safe and keep well.
Carol (Lady Captain)
