The management moved this and advised us late as weather Monday affected work.

well ladies,  Gill and I would like to thank all 27 of you for playing in sweltering heat on Saturday to help celebrate ( yet again !!) our 60th birthday. As you know we are officially twins but not sure who is the eldest.
It was a shame we had to queue for sooooo long but it did give you all a chance to catch up and have a good chin wag!!

The Pro-Shop Charity Golf Day 2/9 – Entry Details

Our annual charity golf day will take place on Wednesday 2nd September teeing off at 3pm. It’s open to the members of West Malling Golf Club and has proved in the past to be a great, fun event with the chance for you and your friends to take on the professional staff, and most likely beat us. The details are as follows:

• Wednesday 2nd September 2015.

• Tee off at 3pm (arrive/register by 2.30pm).• Teams of 4 players - £80 per team.• Best two scores to count but as ever, there’ll be a twist!• Great prizes for the winning teams.• Buffet after the round.• All monies raised go to the Men’s and Ladies Captains Charity

It’s a fun event with the sole purpose to raise a bit of extra money for the selected charities, so if you’re able to make the date we’d love to see you and of course be beaten by you, if you think you’re up to it?! 18 Hole Stableford with a twist as it is a fun day out Brambles format – Each person to drive off and you pick the best drive like in a texas scramble.  Each person then plays their own ball scoring stroke play to complete the hole and note their score down. Each person has to use 3 drives each in the round Cost for the day £30 (cash please) which includes Tea, Coffee and Bacon Roll on Arrival/  Green Fee/ Cream Tea incl. glass of Prosecco/ & Prizes. Prizes for 1st  2nd 3rd     Nearest the Pins  and Longest Drive Registration and meet from 830 am I do hope you enjoy the day.

Tappin Trophy Results - Sidcup Semi Final

West Malling played Sidcup at home today in beautiful sunshine and I'm pleased to report that we won 2-1. Kim Wellman had a great win 6&5, Molly Ball clocked up another good win on the 17th and Sue Gofton up against a formidable opponent who was very familiar with our course was narrowly beaten. Well done to Team West Malling!!! The final will be held at Wildernesse Golf Club on Thursday 1st October (our opponents yet to be confirmed)

Donations for the open - thank you

Ladies 

Thank you to everyone who donated wine or balls to our Open bottle and ball sweep on Tuesday. 

Doing this sweep for the lady captains charity is appreciated and I am very grateful. 

I am thrilled to let you know that we raised over £280 on the day and I know we also got given a few other donations. 

I would also like to thank Lesley for selling the raffle tickets on the day and with the help of Pat and Carol set the table up speedily making it look nice. 

Sue G and Denise then manned the table and that way got to speak to a lot of our guests and ensured everyone had the right prize! Thank you to them. 

One lady won 5 prizes  -  not a bad result for 6 strips for £5!    She did share with her playing partners. 

Unclaimed prizes (we had a couple) will go to the autumn meeting sweep next month.

Open 2015 - MASSIVE THANKS

Ladies 

So another open completed and happy winners. 

Can we just extend our thanks to everyone who came and helped out at our ladies open this year on Tuesday 18th August. We know time is precious but giving your time to welcome our guests has not gone unnoticed or hopefully unappreciated. 

We had 72 ladies join from 25 different clubs. We had traffic delays which led to a late prize giving - thankfully the shop and our ladies entertained our guests whilst we waited for everyone to finish. 

The committee helped with all the key jobs which made everything flow and work beautifully! Our army of ball spotters were complimented and our halfway house enjoyed by all. Thank goodness for Costco ! The rain also stayed at bay... Just! 

And so we will pay the bills and add the rest of the receipts to our ladies funds which makes the day really worthwhile.
