FABULOUS LADIES OF WEST MALLING

I have to say - when you take over as Lady Captain you hit the ground running!  I’ve been in the post 3 weeks tomorrow and I’m thoroughly enjoying it.

We had our AGM where:

- Gill Newson accepted the role as Vice Lady Captain.
- Lady Captain Charity ‘Spadework’ in Offham - more details to follow in the New Year
-  Followed by 12 Holes Texas Scramble

Ladies Section Christmas Lunch

- Food was delicious
- Weather was kind
- The company was even better - great turn out with nearly 50 high spirited ladies sitting down for lunch

Mixed Christmas Comp

- This was another well supported event on Sunday 13th December, lots of high spirited banter mainly caused by the sweep stake when tickets went on sale as to how many yards I’m going to manage on New Years Day, this will probably depend on the amount of Prosecco consumed the night before.
- The winner of the best jumper competition was ‘Molly with her Holly’

Winners and details of all the above competitions will be posted by the relevant committee members in due course.

Swinging 60’s…………..

I don’t know where to start!! Georgina and I had an honorary invite as Past and Lady Captain

- One secret Santa present handed out was a pregnancy test! The recipients face was a picture!
- Loved Joyce's choir singing '10 Lady Golfers - standing on the Tee’ - no rehearsal - the ladies just went with the flow - very professional!
- The singing of 12 Days of Christmas is a fabulous tradition

The shock announcement of the day is that these two lovely ladies pictured below Eunice and Pam have decided to retire as the official organisers of our beloved Swinging 60’s.

I’m sure you will all join me in wishing them both well  - Eunice and Pam have both put a lot of hard work and effort into ensuring the most important ingredients for being one of the Swinging 60’s is about having fun and lots of laughter - you’ve certainly achieved that over the past 20 years!

I have been able to get myself a few invites to events and on behalf of all the ladies I would like to say - thank you for the memories - you’ve done an amazing job!!!

This is such a big group of our ladies section and seems to be growing annually that if any ladies would consider helping out with events going forward, please have a chat with Pam or Eunice

That just leaves me with wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!!!

Don’t forget Captains Drive-in and Past Captains Putt-out on 1st January - we look forward to seeing you then.

Lisa Kiddie

Lady Captain
