If your name, or names appear at the top of the draw, it is your responsibility to contact whoever you have been drawn against. You should offer at least three dates, including at least one at the weekend. Some of the ladies work full time and we want to be sure that they are able to take part in these competitions.

When offering dates please try and ensure that you have left sufficient time to rearrange should this be required for any reason. The time frames this year are:

Round 1
Round 2
Semi Finals
Final
to be played by
to be played by
to be played by

to be played by

29th June 2020
10th August 2020
30th September 2020

If you cannot play your match within this time frame, it is the responsibility of those involved to agree how to decide a winner.

If this is not done you will all be disqualified, unless a course closure prevented the match taking place, in which case up to a 1 week extension may be given, or if there are medical reasons, in which case up to a 2 week extension may be given. In either case, a written request must be submitted to the Ladies Committee who will decide whether an extension can be granted.

The rules of all competitions are held in the yellow ring binder, which is kept upstairs in the ladies changing room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: which competitions can be entered online
A:  Following a review of the system and options available we have decided to take a phased approach and start with a subset of competitions. Once this is seen to be working well we will add more competitions. We will start with most trophy competitions and then look to add the external pairs competitions and then weekly stablefords/medals.

Q: Do I have to enter the specified competitions online?
A: There are 3 options available to enter the online comps
Online via the West Malling Golf Club website   www.westmallinggolf.com
Use Terminal at front desk. You will need your gold card
Ring Office or ask at the front desk and they will enter you
Q: Can I still sign up to the online competitions in the changing room upstairs?
A: No. A notice that the competition is open for sign up will go up on the notice board upstairs, but this is for information only. You must use one of the 3 methods above to sign up. For those who do not want to go online, option 3 of speaking to the office is recommended.
Q: How do I get a login to IG?
A: if you do not already have access to the website please speak to the office
                     i.e. Greg/Lara/Kate tel: 01732 844785
Q: What do I do once I’m logged in?
A: You need to find the relevant competition which can be found under ‘Upcoming Competitions’. If you cannot see it, select ‘show all’. Once found select: ‘Online Sign Up’ for the relevant competition from the list. To enter the competition, select: ‘Continue’. The system will tell you that you have entered the competition and that your gold card has been debited with the entry fee. You will also receive email confirmations.
Q: How can I tell I’ve entered competition and see the draw online?
A: You will automatically receive email confirmations the competition will show on the WMGC home page under ‘My Upcoming Competitions’
When you select the competition you are interested in, you are taken to the competition page where you will be able to:
Withdraw from competition (If competition entry has not been closed.)
View competition entrants
View draw
Q: Do we still pay cash at desk on the day of competition or does it come off gold card
A: When you sign up to a competition, the money will automatically come off your gold card. If you ask the office to sign up for you and give them cash, the office will put the money on your gold card and then immediately take it off the card. (You do not need to have the gold card on you) This is to ensure that all money is collected in the same way and shows on your account
Q: Knockout Matchplay Competitions – Do I enter results online
A: Yes. The winner should enter that they have won.
Q: What if I don’t have enough money on my gold card?
A: You will not be able to enter the competition until you top up your card. This can be done:
Online. From the main menu select: ‘My golf’, ‘My account’. This allows you to top up your account and review details.
You can also add money to your gold card by calling/speaking to the office/Bar as you do now.
Q: Does the money go straight to the Ladies Section bank account?
A: Once the competition is finished the club will transfer the full amount received in entry fees to the Ladies Section Bank account
Q: If it’s a pairs competition should I sign up for both people?
A: Yes. All the entry fee will be taken from the gold card of the person signing up
Q: Can I withdraw from competition before draw is made and is my money returned?
A: Yes, you can withdraw and the system administrator will put the money back on your gold card. You can check that this has happened by going to: ‘My golf’, ‘My account’
Q: Can I withdraw once the draw has been made and is my money returned?
A: If you need to withdraw you will have to speak to the competition secretary. They will remove you from the competition. In most circumstances your money will not be returned once the draw has been made. This is the same as it has always been.
Q:  Can I select a tee time or is draw done by committee member?
A: In phase 1 the committee will do the draw. However, going forward the option may be there to choose your own tee time for certain competitions or put a preference.
Q: Will the draw still be on noticeboard upstairs?
A: Yes.
Q: Do we have to input our cards on to the system once we have finished playing?
A: Not Yet. The men will start to use this functionality early 2020. Once this has been tested, we will then do the same. The club intends to have 3 terminals – 1 near the pro shop, 1 in the bar and 1 by the office. They will be able to assist anyone using the office terminal.
