Ellenor Hospice Charity Donation

Ladies, I have arranged with Katie from Ellenor for us to go and present the cheque for the money raised last year.

We shall be meeting at the Hospice in Gravesend next Tuesday 27th February at 3 p.m. and any  ladies that would like to come along will be most welcome.

Stupid Cupid Fun Competition

On Saturday 17^th February, the second of the ‘Stupid Cupid’ competitions took place on the Spitfire course. It was a glorious Spring day and although conditions of the course were more favourable than on Tuesday, the  4 groups of 3 who had signed up for the competition selected to play a 9 hole competition as had been decided previously. Some good scores were achieved across the groups but the winning group was Julie Harris, Pat West and Shirley Miller with a score of 32 Stableford points, followed by Lindsey Hart, Sally Payne and Judith Parkhurst with a score of 31. Thanks to Lesley Shott who sponsored the Nearest the Pin competition and this was won by Donna Chuter.

Tuesday Valentine Result

23 brave souls turned out for the 'fun comp' today, and despite the forecast of doom, it was only the last few groups who actually got a soaking! Reduced to 9 holes anyway, which I think proved popular! Scores taken were best two on all holes due to one team being one short (I'm nothing if not fair!) The Red Rose ladies prepared themselves then (wisely) turned tail and played cards in the warmth instead.

Result as follows:

Nearest in in 2 on the 9th: Lindsay Hart

2nd Place with 33 points: Diana, Sally & Carol M

1st Place with 36 points: Julie, Lesley & Sadie (awesome scoring ladies).

My thanks to Lesley for sponsoring the nearest the pins for both days (apologies for omitting to thank you at the presentation).

SWINGING SIXTIES GOLF DATES 2018

The swinging sixties 2018 awayday has been booked for Thursday 9th August at Cobtree Manor GC, it will consist of 18 holes of golf plus lunch, at a cost of £25.
Next week I will put a sheet up in the changing rooms for you to add your name if you think you would be interested in attending.  This would help me have some idea on how many tee times to book.   This is only an expression of interest at the moment for me to gauge numbers; a sign up sheet will be posted nearer the time.
Just a reminder of the other two dates for your diary-
Thursday 15th March and Thursday 13the December.
A sign up sheet for March will be going up in the changing room very soon.

Valentine Comps - Now 9 Holes

Due to the ongoing inclement weather and mucky conditions under foot, the Valentine Competitions (both days) will now be 9 holes. The Red Rose competition will still be 9 holes, but of course ladies are entirely free to complete 12 holes (but only 9 will count for scores).  Thanks. Jill
