MASTERS WEEKEND

The weekend started for me with my attendance at The Masters Dinner on Friday evening! This is the first time the Lady Captain has been invited to the dinner and it was a lovely evening. I hope the Lady Captain gets an invite again next year. I managed to encourage the previous Masters winners into a bit of support for my charity. They each contributed £10 to my challenge that a lady would finish above them all in the Masters. I am pleased to say that we won that challenge and my Charity is £90 better off! Due to some other side bets on my ability to beat Alan Wesson, which I luckily did, my charity gained a total of £130 which is lovely.

A fantastic weekend for the ladies. 20 ladies played in the Masters and by the end of Day 1 we had a lady out in each of the last groups on Sunday! Gill Newson (net 65 on the Spitfire on Saturday) and Jennie Horn (net 63 on the Hurricane on Saturday). Unfortunately a lady did not manage to win the Masters but some great golf was played. Congratulations to all the ladies who took part and especially to Jennie Horn, Jane Woodward, Julie Harris and Gill Newson for fantastic performances over the weekend.

Well done again ladies, it was a great atmosphere and fantastic to be a part of.

Caroline xx
