Halfway there - rolling
landscape all day today
We stayed in a nice 4* last night
I ended up in a cot like bed but it beat sharing the double bed with a stranger. My roomy is fun though so all good. We even had a bath in the room so happy days!
JJ had the big bed in his room and his roomy took the cot like bed. It meant he could sleep well. However, that was not to be as I heard this morning before the off! He woke at 2.15am - not seen him yet so he might be napping!!
We began with breakfast and a briefing then another 80 miles ticked off as we are now in Arras. Joe thinks the French just spelt his name wrong so it has been rechristened to Harris Ville.
Joe also learnt how to take a selfie this morning so there will be no stopping him!
He went off as a man on a mission this morning. It was a good days ride through the fields of the wars and it was brought to a conclusion late this afternoon as we passed the British cemetery. So well kept. Had a little moment there.
So we are in one piece with more miles behind us than in front. Your sponsor money is safe.
Challenges today have been the heat and keeping hydrated!
I spent some time today riding on my own just like my training. Not had that much time to think in a long time - watch out world as I do need to hatch some plans on my return!! Met a French family and they tagged in with me for 30 mins - it tested my not so good French but we laughed and they offered me a glass of wine with their friends - had to keep going!!
We have both met some great people in different groups so I am guessing by the end we will know everyone.
Off to dinner now to catch up with the happenings and compare our cycling tan lines.
Hugs to you all
