Paris Update Day 3

Day 3 Serenity in the Somme valley

Well another 80 miles clocked up. We have arrived safely at compeigne - there are even signs for Paris. Happy days everyone. 240 miles done :-)

Hey there georgie girl! is what they are singing!
I have most groups joining me for a little bit so I get respite from the head winds which returned today.  I keep smiling and so am famous in the group. Everyone stops and chats we are very lucky with our group and crew!

We are even the fastest l2p's in a while! JJ is also not the oldest as there is a 71 year old doing the trip and he is not stopping at Paris he will continue to Geneva and nice. Amazing!!

JJ wasn't smiling too much first thing he stayed up in the bar until 2.15 am with the crew.  He was smiling by the first water stop though and we had a nice selfie which I sent back to Julie and lee. However, get ready ... He did sleep (thank goodness)  and he is on tour so staying up is obligatory. I left him at 12.

The cycle today was through the Somme valley - touching place to cycle through on a beautiful summers day as we missed the storm which was forecast. The place was eerie even all these years on. On a bike you are close to where it all happened. It is incredible that the feeling is still there.

I saw JJ at lunchtime - he has joined up with 3 other guys from Essex so he has a nice 4 ball as he calls it!

Another group dinner is planned tonight. We are being well looked after. I will have a beer o'clock with my team mate later.

And so Julie and Lee are ready to come get us in Paris. Stephen and Sarah will be cheering loudly. We can't wait.  My roomy even has packed  a wonder woman top with Cape so I will share pictures next week. I will leave you with that.....

Next stop Paris - 60 miles.

Biggest hugs

G :-)
